Past 2 years
After 2 years, the first versions of the Sage Phone software and devices were found to be unfit for use. Development for the base of the software (Android 10) was at a standstill, and the later devices were found to be too secure or incompatible with the older software.
Because the development of new software and devices requires quite a bit of energy to deliver a stable product, there was some question about whether we wanted to continue with Sage Phone. But due to increasing demand, we did start looking at a solution.
GrapheneOS and Google Pixel
Fortunately, that came in the form of GrapheneOS. A smartphone platform focused on privacy and security which is developed and maintained by a community for the Google Pixel hardware.
With a stable foundation for both software and hardware, we can now continue to offer Sage Phone in a way not possible before. Even more privacy, security, interim updates and better performance than ever before.
First models available
At the time of this writing, we have already done successful installations on Pixel 5 and Pixel 6a. The first device to become available will be the Pixel7 and later the other models from the Pixel 4a to the Pixel 7 Pro. Depending on demand.
